Welcome to the D.A.R.'s Octorara Chapter homepage

Octorara Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, was organized in February 1968 by Mrs. Arthur E. Gaul, who was appointed by the State Regent, Mrs. George J. Walz. The chapter's charter was granted by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution on April 26, 1969. "Octorara" is an (Conestoga) Indian term meaning "sweet water," and refers to the major stream in Southern Lancaster County which creates a border with Chester County.
